HOLISTIC THERAPIST IN DENTON, TX.

Hi There, I’m Allison

As a holistic therapist in Denton, Texas, I enjoy helping women find the courage to face life’s challenges through a creative and holistic approach that supports the mind, body, and spirit.

Sometimes words aren’t enough. My work often goes beyond traditional talk therapy, incorporating expressive arts tools like art, music, writing, and movement alongside evidence-based treatments like EMDR and mind-body approaches to create meaningful experiences. I believe healing looks different for each person, which is why I provide many pathways to help you connect, express, and grow.

True growth and healing involve the body, mind, and spirit. I’ve personally experienced the power of holistic and creative approaches. Music and writing have been essential in my healing journey. Additionally, I recognize the profound impact of other creative expressions, and mindfulness and body-oriented techniques.

My goal is to create a comfortable space where you can show up authentically and experience real transformation through our integrative work together.

My Approach

My approach is individualized because every woman has unique needs. Therefore, I will collaborate closely with you to identify the most helpful solutions.  Additionally, I incorporate a whole-body, creative, and integrative approach utilizing music, art, nature, writing, and movement to facilitate relief and recovery.

As a trauma-informed therapist, I utilize science-backed treatments such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Additionally, my training includes the integration of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and techniques for addressing acute stress and recent incidents. Further, I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Alternatives for Families: A Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (AF-CBT), both of which are tailored specifically for children and families experiencing trauma or high stress.

I am convinced that everyone has resilience and wisdom. Sometimes, we need a little support to recognize it. My commitment is to ensure you gain the most from our time together. I don’t believe in “fixing” people. Instead, I see my role as a guide who assists women make meaningful changes that lead to a fuller, happier life.

My Experience

As a bilingual counselor, educator, and musician, I have over ten years of experience working with children, families, and adults across various settings in the United States and internationally. My journey began with a degree in Music Education from Dallas Baptist University in 2013, followed by three years as an elementary music educator in Fort Worth, Texas.

In 2016, I moved to Guatemala to support young girls in a children’s home who had experienced trauma and abuse. During my four years there, I developed specialized skills in helping traumatized individuals heal through music and art. This transformative experience inspired me to pursue a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I have continued to refine my therapy skills while working at a Texas Children’s Advocacy Center for three years.
